Balanca E Paixao is a raw, restless LP that pushes favela funk energy through sparse percussion, blown-out low end and a genuinely experimental instinct. Xavisphone keeps the record physical from start to finish, but there is real shape in the sequencing too, with cuts like Piquezin Do Nelhe, Respira and Cuidado Bandida opening out the pressure in different ways. Tough, percussive and hard to pin down, this is bass music with its own accent and attitude.
