William Parker's Waltz for Gregory is a song-centred jazz work that places his compositions in the hands of a richly varied ensemble. Andrea Wolper's vocals share the space with piano, horns and rhythm section, while tap dancer Melissa Almaguer is featured on the title piece. The programme also includes music dedicated to filmmaker Chantal Akerman and to the children affected by war.
This limited CD edition is one of 500 copies, presented in a six-panel digipak. Parker composed and produced the music; the recording was made in Brooklyn in December 2023.
