Museums opens another door into Wall Of Voodoo's strange corner of early 80s Los Angeles, where nervous post-punk, dry humour and desert-noir atmosphere all pull in the same direction. This purple vinyl pressing gathers material that still sounds wiry, off-centre and unmistakably theirs.
Big City and Iron Horse hit with that clipped mechanical pulse the band made their own, while Museums and Deep In The Jungle lean into the group's more dislocated mood. A rewarding listen if you like your art rock a little sun-blasted and uneasy.
