Originally a late-90s tribute and now on vinyl, 100 Tears approaches The Cure from the darker end of the spectrum. Gothic rock, industrial and shadowy alternative textures dominate, so even the more familiar songs are pulled into murkier territory. That makes this less a casual covers set than a scene document - a snapshot of how Cure material was being refracted through underground post-punk and darkwave circles at the time.
