The sole 1982 album by Japanese duo Tohoku Shinkansen is a wonderfully polished meeting of city pop, jazz-inflected arrangements and mellow AOR. Soft-focus keyboards and supple rhythms carry 'Summer Touches You', 'Cloudy' and 'Spell'. Long sought after by listeners exploring Japan's sophisticated early-1980s pop, Thru Traffic returns on transparent deep-blue vinyl.
