Scarecrow II is a warm, full-bodied indie-pop record with jangle at its core and just enough trumpet, organ and string colour to deepen the songs without crowding them. The Telephone Numbers keep the writing clear and melodic throughout, and the album has that classic-pop lift that makes repeat listens easy to justify.
