These 1979 recordings catch The Sound at their earliest and most stripped-back, before Jeopardy but already locked into Adrian Borland's clipped melodies and post-punk tension. No Salvation, Physical World and Missiles point straight at what the band would become, while the home-recorded feel gives the whole set a raw, restless charge. A fascinating early chapter on clear vinyl.
