Pressed on orange vinyl, this edition of Sundowner brings Steve Gunn's hard-to-find early solo album back into circulation. The 2010 recordings have a searching, unhurried feel, with open-ended guitar passages set against spare, affecting vocals.
'No Atlas' and 'Imi the King' let the guitar work stretch out; 'For the Horse, Etc.' and 'Over the Hill' show the record's more reflective side. The reissue is pressed from the same metal mother as the original LP.
