Blue House Rockin' brings Soul Sugar together with Dub Shepherds for an all-analog session that keeps one foot in roots reggae and the other deep in dub craft. Cut live to tape over two days, it has a warm, grainy feel that suits the Hammond, upright piano and stripped-back rhythm section. Vocals from Jolly Joseph and Shniece McMenamin add contrast, while the instrumentals keep the set moving without any studio gloss getting in the way.
