Made for Fabrice Gobert's film, Simon Werner A Disparu shows Sonic Youth working with restraint, atmosphere and dread rather than big hooks. The instrumentals move between hushed piano, blurred guitar and uneasy drift, with Theme De Jeremie, Alice Et Simon and Dans Les Bois/M Rabier giving the set its haunted pull. It is one of the band's most quietly absorbing side paths.
