An ECM outlier from 1986, The Epidemics catches L. Shankar and Caroline in a colder, more synthetic mode where electric violin textures and tightly wound pop structures meet new wave tension. The record sits in a fascinating corner between art pop and synth-driven atmosphere, with concise songs that still feel restless and experimental. If you like leftfield 80s crossover records, this one has real character.
