This Phat Kat set pulls together two chapters of the same story, pairing the late 1990s Dedication To The Suckers material with the later Re-Dedication cuts. That split gives the record real weight: raw Detroit boom bap on one side, then a tougher, more reflective return years later.
The J Dilla-produced opening side is reason enough to pick this up, but the second half earns its place too, especially once the guest spots and updated production deepen the picture.
