Pete Fij brings his melodic, guitar-led indie songwriting to Up's The New Down, a ten-track record that balances wry twists with moments of disarming warmth. 'Love's Coming Back' opens the first side, followed by the lift of 'Hey Sunshine' and the playful 'Kitchen Disco'; 'Fragments' brings the second side to a more expansive close. Pressed on heavyweight vinyl, it's a bright yet reflective listen.
