Our Condolences gathers Old Funeral's late-80s and early-90s recordings into a raw double set that shows just how quickly extreme metal was hardening into something darker and more severe. Juno notes that these tapes have not been cleaned up or softened, and that directness is the point: this is cold, harsh material presented without polish. As a compilation, it matters because it documents a formative band at the point where death metal abrasion and black metal atmosphere were still colliding.
