Real Warmth finds Joan Shelley writing with a soft focus that never loses detail. These songs move with the patience of classic folk records, but the album feels entirely present tense, from the open sky of Here In The High & Low to the gentle ache of The Orchard and The Hum. It is a quietly absorbing set with real depth in the writing.
