Midnight Special captures Jimmy Smith's Hammond B3 organ alongside Stanley Turrentine on tenor saxophone, Kenny Burrell on guitar and Donald Bailey on drums. Recorded at Van Gelder Studio on 25 April 1960, the five-track Blue Note set moves from the laid-back title piece to the brisk swing of "Jumpin' The Blues" and the ballad "Why Was I Born".
This UHQ-CD edition uses the specialist high-quality CD format and includes an obi-strip. UHQ-CDs comply with CD standards and can be played on standard CD players.
