On Today's Special, Hanne Lippard's spoken-word patterns and Renato Grieco's viola da gamba, piano and Wurlitzer meet in a deliberately spare conversation. Speech dictates rhythm and pitch rather than simply riding over accompaniment. The playful 'Labradorable' and dryly comic closer 'The Black Rose' make its precise experiments unusually human. Pressed on black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve.
