Negative Balance is the sprawling Godzillionaire debut, returned here on white vinyl as a 2xLP reissue. The band's mix of garage-blown psych, narrative fragments and bruised melody already sounds fully formed, but the wider running time lets the strange details breathe.
There is plenty to dig into across the set, from the lurch of "The Solution Is Laughable" to the long pull of "Symphony For Reciprocating Engines" and the closing run of side four. It feels messy in the right ways - ambitious, theatrical and unmistakably its own thing.
