Legend In His Own Mind captures Gil Scott-Heron with His Amnesia Express in 1983, and the live setting brings extra force to the songs rather than smoothing them out. The band is tight but restless, letting the grooves stretch while Scott-Heron moves between polemic, humour and hard-earned soul.
