Originally released in 1970, Chunga's Revenge follows Frank Zappa through guitar-heavy rock, jazz-inflected instrumentals and sharply drawn vocal pieces. Tracks such as Transylvania Boogie, Road Ladies and the title piece capture the contrasting approaches that run through the album.
This 2026 Japanese-distributed CD edition presents the album in a paper sleeve with an obi and includes an additional radio-spots recording after the original ten tracks. The bonus item is specific to this reissue.
