Morricone's Copkiller score leans into the claustrophobic side of his early-80s crime work, full of looping motifs, feverish tension and a gritty urban edge that fits the film's Manhattan pressure-cooker setting. Rather than broad melody, the power here comes from repetition, atmosphere and sudden tonal shocks. It is one of the darker, more obsessive corners of his soundtrack catalogue.
