Dave Frishberg's 1970 Oklahoma Toad showcases a singular jazz songwriter: sly humour, deft piano and sharply turned lyrics. 'Van Lingle Mungo' remains a delightfully unusual baseball-song classic, while the title cut and 'The Secret of Success' offer further dry wit. This translucent green reissue comes in a gatefold sleeve, with a matching bonus 7-inch carrying two extra songs.
