Part 1 of Jazz Dance Fusion Volume 4 opens the door wide, with Colin Curtis pulling together newer cuts, rediscoveries and deeper Latin-leaning selections into a compilation that never feels scattered. It is a DJ-minded listen, but the sequencing also works beautifully at home from side to side.
Bill Ortiz, GeeW and Mary Greer Mudiku bring warmth and motion to the first disc, while the second moves from the vintage charge of Movin into Pa'gozar, Cuchifrito Pa' Los Pollos and Cla Samba without breaking stride. A strong double set with plenty of replay value.
