Rooted in the early 70s Black Artists' Group orbit, Ofamfa is a vivid mix of jazz, spoken word energy and political charge. The record shifts from open improvisation to more forceful rhythmic passages without losing its communal feel. A deep reissue that puts a neglected St. Louis document back where it belongs.
