Recorded in 1958 with Milt Jackson, Wynton Kelly and Art Blakey, this is one of the warmest Cannonball Adderley dates from his early run. The Adderley and Jackson pairing gives the album its character: bluesy, nimble and relaxed on the surface, but packed with sharp improvising once Blues Oriental, the title track and Groovin' High get moving.
