This self-titled Billy Bruner LP pulls together rare and previously unreleased material from the Tulsa boogie singer's tape archive, turning what might have been a handful of deep cuts into a full-length statement. The sound lands somewhere between homegrown synth-funk, sweet soul and private-press boogie, with enough rough edges left in place to keep its character intact.
